Ministry and Work

The ministry and work of the Dandenong Presbyterian church is directed towards the edifying and the building up of the saints of God in Christ. We do this through the preaching and teaching of God's word with the view of equipping the saints, the people of God, so they themselves will be prepared to work and minister to the needs of others, for the building up of the church which is the body of Christ.

This work of the ministry in the church, by the minister and the elders and other members of the church is with the aim of bringing the people of God to a full maturity in Christ. These principles that we aim towards are the principles of Ephesians chapter four in the New Testament.

The preaching and teaching work of the church is directed towards instruction, encouragement, to learn of the wondrous grace of God, and the fullness of Christ in the fullness of redemption. To also learn how living our lives in Christ must touch every area of our lives before God.

The preaching and the teaching of the church is expository and exegetical, opening up the scripture to both teach and instruct on an a deeper level. The preaching is also directed to exhort, to encourage and strengthen the lives of the believer in Christ.
               

We are Evangelical

The Dandenong Presbyterian church believes in the importance of evangelism within its community and wider districts. As a reformation church, understanding and loving the doctrines of Gods rich grace and mercy, we also desire many to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, where many would come to a saving faith in Christ.

We preach the Christ of the gospels in whom salvation has been accomplished, and who is offered to all who would hear and trust the work of Christ by faith.

It is the work and desire of the church to continually preach Christ and him crucified, as well as equip others for this ongoing work of the gospel and ministry. We recognise that often there are members of our homes and families who need to hear and respond to the gospel of Christ through faith, this is always a part of our prayers and concern in the work and ministry of our church.

We believe that Christ's body which is the church, is a living organic body, where in every member of the church has a vital work and role to play in the building up of the people of God, so that we all reach the maturity that is in Christ Jesus, for this is what he has called us to in his church.
